NU Rock is a site-specific interactive art project inspired by the Rock at Northwestern University, a landmark layered with the collective history of student self-expression. To make the experience of painting the Rock more accessible and reflective, I developed a digital platform that reimagines this tradition.
Using Maya, I created a 3D model of the Rock and built an interactive website with Three.js, allowing students to "paint" it digitally while engaging with guiding questions. Placing a QR code near the Rock, I observed participants pausing to reflect and drawing on the virtual canvas with their fingers, blending tradition with innovation.
