Flow of Colors: Summer
2023
P5.JS
A new season arrives with new colors. When summer unfurls on Evanston Campus, we behold a bluer Michigan Lake, fully bloomed flower trees, and a greener Deering Library meadow. This project explores the documentation of this vibrant infusion of colors that accompanies the arrival of summer to our campus.

Through the lens of digital photography and the creative medium of Processing, the campus photographs are transformed into a grid of pixel-sized squares. Sorting all the pixels based on their darkness, this project deconstructs the original scenery into an arrangement of colors. Each column of the grid is then redrawn with the color of its first pixel, creating a pattern of flowing colors that transitions from dark to light shades. This transformative process invites us to embrace a new perspective and celebrate the season shift through a mesmerizing flow of colors.
